After receiving a MSc degree in Psychology in 2003, I started working as a researcher in the field of Depression at Leiden University. Since 2008, I have been working as a therapist at Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Through my work as a cognitive behavioural therapist I was introduced to Mindfulness. I have been practicing Mindfulness meditation since 2012 and was trained as a Mindfulness teacher in 2014.
Born in Mexico City of mixed Dutch-Mexican heritage, I moved to the Netherlands at an early age. Here I studied clinical psychology at the Radboud University of Nijmegen. My first experience with mindfulness was during my work with people diagnosed with ADHD. Experiencing first-hand how people benefited from the training gave me great joy and satisfaction. For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a trainer is being part of your personal experience and assisting you in embedding mindfulness in your life, in a way that suits your personal style.
